Edging & Backing Options

We offer a variety of options for the edging of our custom rugs.    

Please note that fabrication lead times vary for each edging style and do not include shipping timelines.

Not all options are available for every rug. 

Serging Options

  • Modern Edge Serging

    A discreet and low profile serged edge with a sleek look. This is a great alternative to hand serging.

    7 day fabrication time upon a placed order with stocked material.

  • Hand Serging

    Hand serging is the process of sewing yarns around the edge of a carpet by hand creating an authentic, artisanal look. Hand serging will show less of the yarn on the face of the rug.
    Hand serging takes approximately 5 weeks fabrication time if the material is in stock and the order is placed.

  • Machine Serging

    Machine serging is a process that uses a special type of sewing machine to stitch a tightly-wrapped thread around the edges of the carpet.

    7 day fabrication time upon a placed order with stocked material.

Applied Backing Options

  • Anchor rug company applied nonslip backing to area rugs

    Non-Skid Padding

    (Indoor use only)

    - Provides increased comfort underfoot

    - Hides fabrication of back of rug

    - Protects wood floors from abrasion

    - Extends life and stability of rug

    - Holds rug in place

    - Eliminates bunching and unsightly appearance of separate pad

  • Anchor rug company applied outdoor backing to area rugs

    Indoor/Outdoor Padding

    - Outdoor friendly cushion provides increased comfort underfoot

    -Hides fabrication of back of rug

    - Extends life and stability of rug

    - Weather and mold resistant

    - Protects floors from abrasion

    - Use indoors over ceramic, stone and concrete only
